Casey J. Bate Mechanical Engineer

I am passionate about learning. I view every opportunity in life as a chance to learn a new skill or improve those I currently have. I believe the ability to create is the most defining aspect of our species. I focus on what I can build as a result of the experiences I have gathered and pursue new experiences that push my limits.

I have channeled this energy into a lifelong pursuit of being an engineer. Currently, I possess six years of higher education in the field of mechanical engineering resulting in two degrees from two universities. I have also collected 3 years of working experience in this discipline through various positions held in private industry, government defense, and academia.

My time in academia has fostered numerous leadership positions. As the offspring of two managers, I grew up discussing process flow and employee relationships. I often consider the pros and cons of decisions made at each step I take in an effort to form my own leadership philosophy. I see much of the world as a network of systems whose understanding and optimization is key to success.

My personal life reflects my desire to learn and build. I spend many hours tinkering with cars and motorcycles. I continue to make advances in photography, drawing, and film editing. I am an avid outdoors enthusiast participating in hiking, biking, backpacking, rafting, kayaking, and skiing. Everyday is a chance to work toward my ultimate goal: to be seen as an explorer and a creator.
