Every year, the Imagineers at Disney release a design challenge to college age students. These challenges may be to design a new theme park, a new exhibit, or a new resort. Regardless of the prompt, these challenges push teams of four students to they limit of their creative ability to imagine new worlds in the same fashion the Imagineers do.
Our prompt was to redesign a space on our campus to help students relax and restore their creative energy. We drew inspiration from the movie Inside Out and creative three sub-spaces based on the these of community, creativity, and adventure. We called our space Mindfulness because this space would allow students to reconnect with the things they consider most important, their deepest ambitions, and their motivations that prompted them to attend college.
