10 week research for undergrads (REU) and Virginia Tech University through their Center for Tire Research (CenTiRe). Through this program, I was able to explore my interests in cars, piezoelectrics, and graduate school. My task was to building a test set-up that could mimic and measure the electrical power generation of a piezoelectric device inside a tire. The results of this testing would show if it was possible to power a tire structural health monitoring system without replacement batteries.
